Salsa Suits

What is it that makes Salsa so immensely popular and why does it suit so many people, what is the reason for its immense following and popularity not just in the U.K. but also throughout the world.

Interestingly Salsa developed and advanced from its original form virtually of its own accord; moves were passed on by word of mouth and or by sight which surprisingly is still the case today, often dancers put their own slant to the way they dance, essentially and fundamentally though the style is Afro-Caribbean, which gives a relaxed feel to the moves. Salsa is danced to 4/4 time, the rhythm is a standard four beat repetition interpreted by dancers changing weight on three counts. The moves themselves are quite simple enough but, as is always the case in dancing, it’s not what you do, it’s the way that you do it, and more importantly the way that you enjoy it. Salsa is all about having fun.

At salsa classes, we teach in a fun and relaxed way, enabling everyone to have a good time. Some want to learn salsa to a very high standard, other people want to learn salsa to enable them to go salsa clubbing and or salsa dancing, while others prefer to enjoy coming to the classes to enjoy the friendship and the fun of the learning without any need or desire to go to dances, it is this ability to be able to enjoy just the classes or both classes and clubbing that makes salsa so popular. Our aim is to offer to you the beneficial enjoyment and therapeutic relaxation that salsa brings.
